Profile
The Chicago Bicycle Advocates
Chicago is a great cycling city, but it can be a dangerous one. Freeman Kevenides Law Firm is not your typical personal injury practice; we are cyclists representing cyclists. Founded in 2013 by Brendan Kevenides and Jim Freeman (known affectionately as ”Lawyer Jim”), our firm is dedicated exclusively to representing bicyclists and pedestrians injured by negligent drivers. We understand the unique dynamics of a bike crash because we ride these streets every day. When a driver claims they ”didn’t see you” or that you ”swerved out of nowhere,” we know how to use evidence and the law to prove them wrong.
We Speak Your Language
Unlike general injury lawyers who might dabble in bike cases, this is all we do. Our expertise covers:
- Dooring Accidents: Holding drivers accountable for opening car doors into the path of a cyclist.
- Intersection Collisions: Proving right-of-way violations, such as the dangerous ”left cross” or ”right hook.”
- Hit and Run: relentless investigation to find the driver or secure compensation through uninsured motorist coverage.
- Potholes and Road Hazards: fighting for damages caused by the city’s failure to maintain safe streets. 🚧
Advocacy Beyond the Courtroom
We are deeply embedded in the cycling community. Brendan Kevenides runs The Chicago Bicycle Advocate blog, a go-to resource for legal and safety information. Jim Freeman is a former bike mechanic and active member of advocacy groups. We sponsor races, support critical mass rides, and fight for better infrastructure. We believe that better laws and safer streets benefit everyone.
If you have been hurt while riding or walking, don’t hire a lawyer who views you as just another car accident case. Hire a bicycle accident lawyer who understands your passion and your rights. Contact Freeman Kevenides Law Firm for a free consultation. We are on your team.
