Equip For Equality Inc. serves as the independent, federally mandated Protection and Advocacy System for the state of Illinois. Established in 1985, this non-profit organization is dedicated to advancing the human and civil rights of children and adults with disabilities. The office is situated in the Myers Building, a 10-story architectural landmark located at the corner of 5th and Washington Streets. It sits on the west side of the plaza, directly facing the Old State Capitol.
Suite Access
Enter through the main lobby on the east side (Plaza) or north side (Washington St). Take the elevators to the 8th Floor.
Parking Details
Metered street parking is available on Washington and 5th Streets. The Old State Capitol Underground Parking Garage is also convenient.
Public Transit
Highly accessible via SMTD. The building is adjacent to the main downtown Transfer Center, making it reachable by nearly every bus route in the city.
