Creating Opportunities for New England’s Immigrants and Refugees
Welcome to the International Institute of New England (IINE), a cornerstone of support and a beacon of hope for refugees and immigrants across the region for over a century. ⚖️ Founded in 1918, our non-profit organization is dedicated to creating a society where all people are welcomed and valued. We provide a comprehensive suite of services designed to empower newcomers on their journey toward self-sufficiency and full participation in American life. If you or your family are navigating the challenges of resettlement and the complexities of the U.S. immigration system, IINE is here to help. Our team of compassionate experts, including immigration attorneys and paralegals, offers vital legal counsel, case management, education, and employment services. We understand that starting a new life in a new country is a monumental task. Our mission is to provide the resources, opportunities, and support necessary for you to thrive. With offices in Boston and Lowell, Massachusetts, and Manchester, New Hampshire, we are deeply embedded in the communities we serve, fostering a network of welcome and ensuring that every refugee and immigrant has the chance to succeed.
Comprehensive Immigration Legal Services
A critical component of our work at IINE is providing accessible and expert legal assistance. Our Legal Immigration Services team is committed to helping individuals and families navigate the intricate U.S. immigration system. We offer low-cost, professional legal representation, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent people from obtaining the legal status they need to build secure lives. Our legal experts handle hundreds of cases annually, guiding clients with precision and care. 🤝
- Citizenship Lawyers: We provide comprehensive support for lawful permanent residents on their path to becoming U.S. citizens. Our services include eligibility screenings, application assistance (Form N-400), and preparation for the naturalization interview and exam.
- Family Immigration Lawyers: Reuniting families is at the heart of our work. We assist U.S. citizens and permanent residents in filing petitions to bring their family members to the United States and help those already here to adjust their status.
- Business and Work Visa Lawyers: We help individuals secure and maintain the legal right to work in the U.S. by assisting with applications for Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) and renewals.
- Humanitarian Relief: Our team provides crucial legal aid to vulnerable populations, including assisting refugees and asylees in applying for permanent residency (Green Cards) and helping survivors of violence and trafficking through petitions like VAWA and U/T visas.
More Than Legal Aid: A Holistic Approach to Integration
IINE’s support extends far beyond the courtroom. We believe in a holistic model that addresses the interconnected needs of our clients. Our services are designed to work together to create a stable foundation for a new life. 🏛️ This includes refugee resettlement programs that provide initial housing and support, case management to connect families with essential services, skills training and job placement services to foster economic independence, and English language classes to break down communication barriers. This integrated approach ensures that from the moment a refugee family arrives, they have a dedicated team supporting their journey. Our work is made possible through strong community partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and the generosity of our supporters, all working together to build a more welcoming New England.
