The Philadelphia Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) serves as the Bureau’s primary operational presence for the nine counties of Eastern Pennsylvania. As the lead federal law enforcement and domestic intelligence agency, our mission is to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States. From our headquarters at 600 Arch Street, a dedicated team of Special Agents, Intelligence Analysts, and professional staff works tirelessly to investigate and disrupt the most significant threats facing our nation. We are committed to protecting our communities from terrorism, cyberattacks, and complex criminal enterprises, all while ensuring the civil rights and liberties of every citizen are preserved.

Our National Security and Law Enforcement Priorities

The FBI’s jurisdiction covers a wide range of federal crimes, with a primary focus on threats that challenge the foundations of our national security and public safety. The Philadelphia Field Office is at the forefront of these efforts in our region, collaborating with a vast network of local, state, and federal partners to achieve our mission.

• Counterterrorism: Our number one priority is to detect, deter, and disrupt terrorist threats, both international and domestic. We lead the Philadelphia Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), a collaboration of over 40 agencies, to neutralize terrorist cells and operations.
• Cyber Crime: We investigate sophisticated cyber intrusions, ransomware attacks, and online economic espionage targeting our nation’s businesses, infrastructure, and citizens. We work to identify and apprehend malicious actors who seek to exploit our digital world.
• Counterintelligence: The Philadelphia Field Office works to identify and neutralize the activities of foreign intelligence services operating in the United States, protecting our nation’s secrets and assets from espionage.
• Criminal Investigations: We investigate the most complex and serious federal crimes. This includes:
  • Public Corruption: Investigating corruption at all levels of government to ensure public trust.
  • Civil Rights: Protecting the constitutional rights of all people and investigating hate crimes and color of law abuses.
  • Organized Crime: Dismantling transnational and domestic organized crime syndicates.
  • White-Collar Crime: Combating complex financial crimes, including corporate fraud, healthcare fraud, and money laundering.
  • Violent Crime: We lead task forces to address the most violent gangs and criminal enterprises that threaten our communities.

The Philadelphia Field Office collaborates closely with the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, and numerous other law enforcement agencies throughout our territory, which includes Allentown, Harrisburg, Newtown Square, Scranton, South Jersey, and Williamsport.
