Since 1979, Biggam Fox Skinner LLP has been a steadfast champion for the rights of injured and disabled individuals throughout Vermont. 🏛️ Our firm is exclusively dedicated to two areas of law: Workers’ Compensation and Social Security Disability. This singular focus allows us to provide our clients with an unparalleled level of expertise and a deep understanding of the complex systems they face. If you have been injured on the job or are unable to work due to a disability, you are not alone. Our mission is to navigate the legal maze for you, fighting for the maximum benefits you are entitled to while you focus on your health and well-being. We are your partners in this fight, and we work on a contingency fee basis—meaning you pay nothing unless we successfully win your case.
Comprehensive Workers’ Compensation Lawyers
A workplace injury can instantly disrupt your life, creating physical, emotional, and financial turmoil. The Vermont Workers’ Compensation system is supposed to provide a safety net, but navigating its rules and dealing with insurance companies can be a daunting challenge. Our experienced Workers’ Compensation Lawyers are here to ensure your rights are protected every step of the way. 🛠️
- Medical Treatment: We fight to ensure you receive all necessary medical care for your work-related injury, without interference from the insurance carrier.
- Lost Wages: We work to secure your temporary disability benefits promptly so you can stay afloat financially while you are unable to work.
- Permanent Disability: If your injury results in a permanent impairment, we will fight to get you the full and fair permanency award you deserve for your loss of function.
- Vocational Rehabilitation: If you cannot return to your former job, we will help you access vocational rehabilitation services to prepare you for a new line of work.
Dedicated Social Security Disability (SSD/SSI) Advocacy
Being unable to work due to a medical condition is a profound challenge. The Social Security Disability application and appeals process is notoriously complex and difficult, with a high rate of initial denials. Our knowledgeable attorneys guide clients through every stage, from the initial application to hearings before an administrative law judge. We meticulously gather medical evidence and build the strongest possible case to prove your disability. 💪
- Initial Applications: We assist with filing a comprehensive and accurate initial application to maximize your chances of approval from the start.
- Appeals and Hearings: If your claim is denied, we are prepared to handle all levels of appeal, representing you forcefully at your hearing to fight for the benefits you need.
