Serving Thurston, Mason, and Grays Harbor Counties
- Community-Based Advocacy: Founded in 1981 (formerly Thurston County Volunteer Legal Services), Sound Legal Aid is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing civil legal aid to low-income individuals. We believe that income should not determine access to justice.
- Volunteer Network: We rely on a robust network of volunteer attorneys who generously donate their time to assist clients with advice, clinics, and direct representation.
- Safety and Stability: Our primary goal is to help vulnerable community members achieve safety and stability through legal means, particularly in cases of domestic violence and housing instability.
Legal Services Offered
- Eviction Defense: We provide critical legal support to tenants facing eviction, helping to prevent homelessness and ensure fair treatment under landlord-tenant laws.
- Domestic Violence Support: Working in partnership with SafePlace, we offer legal assistance to survivors of domestic violence, helping them secure protection orders and navigate family law issues safely.
- Family Law: We assist with non-criminal family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and support, focusing on the best interests of children and families in crisis.
- Wills and Estates: Providing simple will preparation and estate planning advice to help low-income seniors and individuals secure their legacy.
