Profile
Historic Advocacy in the Heart of Pioneer Square
Emerald Law Group is a steadfast personal injury law firm located in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square district. Founded in 2010 by veteran attorney Michael Gustafson, the firm was established as an antidote to high-volume ‘settlement mill’ practices. Instead, Emerald Law Group focuses on providing personalized, hands-on legal representation to victims of negligence. The attorneys here, including partners Donna Mack and Justin Dale, bring decades of combined experience to the table, having formerly worked for insurance companies. This insider knowledge gives them a strategic advantage, as they understand exactly how insurers evaluate claims and attempt to minimize payouts. The firm represents everyday people-pedestrians struck by cars, survivors of sexual abuse, and workers injured on unsafe premises-fighting to ensure their voices are heard and their rights protected.
Comprehensive Injury Litigation
Emerald Law Group handles a broad spectrum of plaintiff’s injury cases. Their core areas of practice include:
- Motor Vehicle Accidents: Aggressive representation for victims of car, truck, and motorcycle crashes, handling everything from property damage to complex medical liability.
- Sexual Abuse: providing a safe and confidential legal avenue for survivors of childhood and adult sexual abuse to seek justice against perpetrators and institutions.
- Premises Liability: Holding property owners accountable for slip and fall accidents, dog bites, and negligent security.
- Brain & Spinal Injuries: Dedicated advocacy for clients suffering from catastrophic injuries that require long-term care and rehabilitation.
Client-First Philosophy
The firm prides itself on being accessible and transparent. They operate on a contingency fee basis, which means clients do not pay a dime in legal fees unless the firm wins their case. This commitment to risk-free representation allows injured individuals to pursue justice without financial fear. Emerald Law Group’s office is housed in the stunning Mutual Life Building, a Romanesque Revival landmark that reflects the firm’s solidity and connection to Seattle’s history. With 24/7 availability for consultations, the team is always ready to step in when a crisis occurs, offering the compassionate support and fierce advocacy that Seattle residents deserve.
