Providing Compassionate Legal Services in Trenton Since 1904
Welcome to Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ), a faith-based, nonprofit organization with a long and proud history of serving the community since 1904. From our office in Trenton, we are dedicated to serving those who are in need or have limited choices, regardless of their background or faith. A cornerstone of our mission is our Immigration Legal Services program, which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice. We provide high-quality, low-cost legal assistance to low-income immigrants who are unable to afford a private attorney. Our team, which includes an immigration attorney and a DOJ Accredited Representative, is committed to guiding clients through the complexities of the U.S. legal system with expertise and compassion. 🤝
Our Legal Practice Areas
Through a vital partnership with Legal Services of New Jersey, our program offers free legal counsel and representation on a variety of critical civil matters. We focus on areas that profoundly impact the stability and well-being of individuals and families in our community.
Immigration Lawyers
We believe in helping new Americans navigate their path to a new life. Our team assists hundreds of individuals each year with a wide variety of immigration needs. 🗽
- Family Immigration Lawyers: We handle family-based petitions to unite families and loved ones.
- Citizenship Lawyers: Our services include guiding lawful permanent residents through the naturalization process.
- Deportation Defense Lawyers: We provide counsel for complex matters such as Suspension of Deportation (NACARA).
- Special Immigrant Cases: We assist with Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) self-petitions, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
Civil Legal Aid
Our commitment extends to other areas of civil law where legal assistance is most needed. We provide representation in the following areas:
- Bankruptcy Lawyers: Helping individuals find a path to financial stability through bankruptcy protection.
- Debt Relief Lawyers: Addressing consumer law issues to protect individuals from unfair practices.
- Residential Real Estate Lawyers: Assisting with landlord-tenant disputes and foreclosure defense to keep families in their homes.
- Divorce and Family Law Lawyers: Providing guidance on sensitive family law matters.
Your Community Legal Partner
