Our Core Civil Rights Practice Areas
At Berney & Sang, we focus our practice on critical areas of civil rights law where we can make the most profound difference in the lives of our clients.
- Special Education and School Civil Rights: We are passionate advocates for students with disabilities. Our firm is a leader in representing children who have been denied a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). We handle a wide range of education-related issues, including:
- Inadequate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- School-based bullying and harassment
- Improper discipline of students with disabilities
- Cases involving tuition reimbursement for private placements
- Employment and Labor Lawyers: We fight for employees who have faced injustice in the workplace. Our employment law practice is focused on:
- Workplace Discrimination Lawyers: Representing individuals who have been discriminated against on the basis of race, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, age, or disability.
- Harassment Lawyers: Vigorously pursuing claims for employees who have been subjected to sexual harassment or a hostile work environment.
- Wrongful Termination Lawyers: Advocating for employees who have been unlawfully fired from their jobs.
- Public Accommodations and Civil Rights: We are committed to ensuring equal access for all. We represent individuals who have been discriminated against by places of public accommodation, such as businesses, universities, and government entities. This includes fighting for the rights of individuals who have been unfairly targeted or who have been denied necessary accommodations for their disabilities.
