Profile
A Voice for Abused and Neglected Children in Pittsburgh
KidsVoice is a nationally recognized non-profit legal agency dedicated to providing a voice of hope, rights, and experience for abused, neglected, and at-risk children in Allegheny County. Whenever a child enters the dependency system in Juvenile Court, KidsVoice is appointed to provide unwavering legal representation. Our unique, multidisciplinary approach teams an attorney with a social service professional for each child, ensuring that we advocate for their needs both inside and outside the courtroom. We are their staunch allies, fighting to secure a safe, permanent home and the essential services they need to flourish. 🤝
Dedicated Legal Advocacy for Children’s Rights
Our core mission is to serve as legal advocates for children who cannot speak for themselves. The children we represent are involved in the child welfare system and need dedicated representation to navigate the legal process. As court-appointed Child Custody Lawyers, we do not represent parents or handle private custody disputes; our sole focus is the well-being of the child in dependency proceedings. We vigilantly guide each child through the court process, delivering informed recommendations and advocating for their best interests at every turn.
- Juvenile Court Representation: Providing expert legal counsel for children in all dependency proceedings.
- Holistic Support: Advocating for critical services in education, healthcare, and mental health to address the full spectrum of a child’s needs. 🧠
- Ensuring Safety and Permanency: Our primary goal is to find a safe and stable home for every child we represent, protecting them from future harm.
Supporting the Transition to Adulthood
Our commitment does not end when a child turns 18. We continue to support our clients through age 24 as they transition out of the foster care system. This critical support helps these young adults overcome roadblocks to stable housing, employment, and healthcare, empowering them to live independently and successfully. We provide a vital safety net, helping them with everything from job applications to understanding their rights as they build their future. 🎓
A National Model for Child Advocacy
KidsVoice is recognized as a national model for its effective, multidisciplinary approach to child advocacy. We are more than just lawyers; we are a dedicated team that stands up for kids in the courtroom, the classroom, and the community. By providing a consistent, powerful voice, we make a dramatic difference in the lives of thousands of children each year, giving them hope, stability, and a path forward. ⚖️
