Located atop a hill in the picturesque Bushnell Park, this National Historic Landmark is a masterpiece of High Victorian Gothic architecture, designed by Richard M. Upjohn and opened in 1878. Architecture and History

Visiting the Capitol

The State Capitol and the adjacent Legislative Office Building (LOB) are open to the public on weekdays. Visitors can take self-guided tours or join scheduled guided tours to learn about the building's history and the legislative process. All visitors must pass through security screening, including metal detectors, located at the public entrances on the west side of the building and the LOB. The complex is fully accessible, with ramps and elevators available for individuals with disabilities.
