Overview
City of Concord Tax Collector
Treasury and Collections Division
The Concord Tax Collector’s office operates within the Treasury and Collections Division at City Hall. This unified office serves as the financial hub for the city, streamlining services that are often separated in other municipalities. It is the primary location for residents to handle both property tax obligations and motor vehicle registrations in one visit.
- Motor Vehicle Registration: The division acts as a Municipal Agent for the state, allowing residents to process new registrations, renewals, and title applications for automobiles, motorcycles, trailers, and boats.
- Property Taxes: Staff bill and collect semi-annual property taxes (typically due in July and January), as well as timber and excavation taxes. They also manage tax liens and deeding processes for delinquent properties.
- Utility Billing: The office accepts payments for municipal water and sewer services, which are billed monthly or quarterly depending on the account type.
- Other Services: Residents can pay parking citations, purchase resident parking permits, and process other city-related fees at the counter.
Hours and Access
The Collections Office is located on the first floor of 41 Green Street. To better serve working residents, the office offers extended business hours on Thursdays until 6:00 PM. An online Citizen Self Service portal is also available for viewing bills and making payments remotely. A drop box is located at the City Hall entrance for after-hours payments.
