About DCYF Concord
The NH Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) operates its Concord District Office at Terrill Park Drive. As a division of the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), this agency is responsible for protecting children from abuse and neglect and providing juvenile justice services. The Concord office serves families in the Merrimack County area, offering a safety net for vulnerable youth and support for parents. The facility houses staff for both the Bureau of Child Protection and the Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services.
Key Services and Programs
DCYF manages a comprehensive range of family-centered programs. Child Protection Services involve assessments of safety and the provision of services to preserve families whenever possible. Juvenile Justice Services (JJS) oversees youth adjudicated as delinquents or Children in Need of Services (CHINS), with Juvenile Probation and Parole Officers (JPPOs) providing supervision and case management. The office also assists with Foster Care and Adoption, working to find permanent homes for children who cannot return to their birth parents.
- Child Protection: Investigation of abuse reports and family support.
- Juvenile Justice: Probation, parole, and rehabilitation for youth.
- Permanency: Foster care licensing and adoption services.
Visitor Information
The Concord District Office is open to the public during standard business hours. Visitors, including families meeting with caseworkers or attending meetings, may be subject to security protocols. It is recommended to call ahead to schedule an appointment, as staff are often in the field. The office is accessible to individuals with disabilities. In cases of emergency or to report abuse, the public should use the central intake toll-free number or call 911, rather than visiting the office directly.
