Law Enforcement and Court Services

The Hudson County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency responsible for the security of the Hudson County judiciary and the safety of county facilities. Established in 1840, this agency operates with a wide range of divisions including the Court Bureau, Detective Bureau, and Patrol Bureau. The office is tasked with maintaining order within the county courthouses, transporting prisoners, and executing civil court orders such as foreclosures, wage garnishments, and writs of execution.
