Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities
The Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) is the state’s chief civil rights law enforcement agency, headquartered at 450 Columbus Boulevard in downtown Hartford. Its mission is to eliminate discrimination through the enforcement of civil and human rights laws and to establish equal opportunity and justice for all persons in Connecticut. The Commission handles complaints regarding discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, and credit transactions based on protected classes such as race, age, disability, and gender.
