U.S. Trustee Program – Region 3

- Meeting of Creditors: Conducting Section 341 meetings where debtors are questioned under oath regarding their assets and liabilities.
Fraud and Enforcement
- Civil Enforcement: Investigation of bankruptcy fraud and abuse, including the concealment of assets, identity theft, and filing of false documents.
- Means Testing: Review of income calculations to determine a debtor’s eligibility for Chapter 7 relief or their repayment capacity in Chapter 13.
- Professional Review: Monitoring of fees requested by attorneys and other professionals to ensure they are reasonable and necessary.
