The Office of the Chief of Police constitutes the highest administrative level of the Newark Police Division. Located at the Ralph A. Villani Memorial Building (Police Headquarters) on Green Street, this office is responsible for the overall command, direction, and discipline of the city’s police force. The Chief of Police oversees all bureaus, precincts, and specialized units, ensuring that law enforcement services are delivered effectively to the Newark community. This leadership role involves strategic planning, policy implementation, and the coordination of public safety initiatives with other city, state, and federal agencies.
