The court sits in the Daniel Patrick Moynihan United States Courthouse, a modern architectural landmark in Manhattan's Civic Center. The SDNY has jurisdiction over federal cases involving major financial institutions, international commerce, terrorism, and organized crime, alongside civil rights disputes and copyright law. Its decisions often set precedents that resonate globally.
