Overview
Workforce1 Healthcare Career Center
Specialized Employment Services
The Workforce1 Healthcare Career Center is a specialized initiative provided by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS). Located at 14 Wall Street in the Financial District, this center focuses exclusively on connecting qualified candidates with careers in the healthcare sector. Unlike general Workforce1 centers, this facility is staffed by teams with specific expertise in the medical field, helping to bridge the gap between New York City’s major healthcare employers and job seekers.
Services for Candidates
The center serves candidates aged 18 and older who are interested in clinical and non-clinical roles. Services are provided at no cost and include:
- Resume Revitalization: Workshops and one-on-one assistance to tailor resumes for medical industry standards.
- Interview Preparation: Coaching on how to navigate behavioral interviews common in hospital and clinic settings.
- Job Placement: Direct referrals to open positions such as Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Medical Assistants, and Patient Care Technicians.
Eligibility and Visiting
To access services, candidates generally need to be New York City residents. Visitors should be prepared to present a valid government-issued photo ID and a copy of their current resume. While the center operates during standard business hours, candidates are strongly encouraged to register online or call ahead to schedule an appointment or sign up for a specific recruitment event, as capacity can be limited.
