The 1st Precinct of the New York Police Department serves the historic and financial heart of New York City. Public transportation is the best way to reach the station, as parking in Tribeca is notoriously difficult and expensive. The station is a short walk from the Canal Street and Franklin Street subway stations.
History
The 1st Precinct is often cited as one of the oldest police units in the country, with a lineage tracing back to the earliest days of the NYPD. The current station house is a landmark, reflecting the deep history of the neighborhood which has transformed from an industrial warehouse district into one of the most affluent residential areas in the world.
