Overview
General Overview
The Philadelphia Police Department’s 18th District is a critical law enforcement hub serving the West Philadelphia community. Located at 5510 Pine Street, this station provides 24-hour police coverage for a diverse area that includes neighborhoods such as Cobbs Creek, Garden Court, Cedar Park, and parts of University City. The facility serves a dual purpose, housing both the uniformed patrol officers of the 18th District and the investigative team of the Southwest Detective Division. This co-location allows for seamless coordination between first responders and detectives investigating serious crimes such as robbery, burglary, and assault across the wider Southwest division.
Community Policing
The 18th District is actively engaged in community relations. The station hosts regular Police Service Area (PSA) meetings and Captain’s Town Halls, where residents can voice concerns about neighborhood safety, quality of life issues, and crime trends directly to district leadership. The district also employs Community Relations Officers (CROs) and Victim Assistance Officers (VAOs) to support crime victims and foster trust between the police and the public.

Citizens can visit the district headquarters 24/7 for various services, including:
- Filing Police Reports: Walk-ins can report crimes, accidents, or missing persons at the front desk operations center.

- Accident Reports: While reports are filed here, copies are typically obtained through the Department of Records at City Hall or online.
