Building a Prosperous Pittsburgh
The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (URA) serves as the city’s primary economic development agency. Headquartered at 412 Boulevard of the Allies, the URA is committed to creating jobs, increasing the city’s tax base, and improving the vitality of businesses and neighborhoods. By bridging public and private interests, the Authority invests in equitable developments that promote housing affordability and economic mobility for all Pittsburghers.
- Housing Opportunities: The URA offers low-interest loans and grants to help residents buy homes, make energy-efficient repairs, and stabilize neighborhoods through the Housing Opportunity Fund.
- Business Support: Provides financing, technical assistance, and gap funding for small businesses and major commercial developments.
- Property Rehabilitation: Programs designed to combat blight by renovating vacant structures and returning them to productive use.
Office Operations
The URA’s main administrative offices are located in downtown Pittsburgh. While many applications for housing and business programs can be accessed online, the staff is available to guide applicants through the complex funding processes. The Authority works closely with the City of Pittsburgh but operates as a separate legal entity. 🏗️🏘️📉
