United States Marshals Service – Western District of PA
The United States Marshals Service (USMS) for the Western District of Pennsylvania operates out of the Joseph F. Weis Jr. U.S. Courthouse in downtown Pittsburgh. As the nation’s oldest federal law enforcement agency, the Marshals Service is the enforcement arm of the federal courts. 🦅 Their primary mission includes ensuring the security of judicial facilities, protecting federal judges, and managing the witness security program.
Core Responsibilities
- Judicial Security: Providing comprehensive protection for court proceedings, jurors, and court personnel.
- Fugitive Investigations: The Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force actively pursues and apprehends violent felons and sex offenders who are wanted on federal and local warrants. 🕵️♂️

Security and Access
Access to the U.S. Marshals office is extremely restricted. The office is located within a secure federal facility.
