The Auditors of Public Accounts (APA) is a legislative agency of the State of Connecticut, located in the State Office Building on Capitol Avenue. Uniquely structured with two State Auditors from opposing political parties, the agency serves as an independent watchdog ensuring the fiscal integrity and accountability of state government. The APA reports directly to the General Assembly, providing unbiased assessments of state operations to protect public funds from waste, fraud, and abuse.

Key Responsibilities

The core mission of the APA involves comprehensive auditing and investigative functions:
