Court Overview
The Jersey City Municipal Court, located within the Lewis S. McRae Justice Complex, serves as the local judicial branch for Jersey City. It has jurisdiction over disorderly persons offenses, petty disorderly persons offenses, motor vehicle and traffic violations, and municipal ordinance violations. Payments for traffic and parking tickets not requiring a court appearance can be made online via the NJMCdirect portal. For mandatory court appearances, attendees must pass through security screening. The court enforces strict decorum, and cell phones must be silenced.
