The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement (BLCE) is a specialized division of the Pennsylvania State Police responsible for enforcing the Commonwealth's Liquor Code. Headquartered on Vartan Way in Harrisburg, this agency operates independently of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), focusing strictly on the investigatory and enforcement aspects of alcohol regulation. The bureau's officers are sworn law enforcement personnel who investigate allegations of illegal activities at licensed establishments, such as selling alcohol to minors, serving visibly intoxicated patrons, and operating after legal hours. They also target unlicensed "speakeasies" and conduct raids to confiscate illegal alcohol and gambling devices.
