Anne Arundel County Public Schools

Board of Education Headquarters

The Parham Building on Riva Road serves as the central administrative headquarters for Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS). As the fourth largest school system in Maryland, this facility houses the Board of Education and the offices of the Superintendent. It acts as the nerve center for the district's operations, overseeing curriculum development, human resources, student transportation, and budget administration for over 120 schools. While this location is not a school for student instruction, it provides essential support services for families, including enrollment assistance, record requests, and public meetings regarding educational policy. The focus here is on strategic leadership to ensure academic excellence across the county.

• Enrollment and Transfers: Manages student registration, out-of-area transfer requests, and residency verification.
• Human Resources: Handles recruitment, staffing, and benefits for thousands of educators and support staff.
• Transportation Services: Coordinates bus schedules and routes for student transit countywide.
• Student Records: Processes requests for transcripts, diplomas, and other academic verification documents.

Administrative Role

Visitors to the central office typically include prospective employees, parents resolving administrative issues, and community members attending Board of Education meetings. The facility ensures compliance with state educational standards and manages the infrastructure required to educate nearly 85,000 students. Security protocols are in place, requiring identification for entry to executive offices.
