Overview
Annapolis Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program
Emissions Testing Services
The Annapolis VEIP Station, operated by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA), is the primary emissions testing facility for the Annapolis area. This location helps maintain Maryland’s air quality standards by inspecting vehicles for compliance. The facility features full-service inspection lanes where inspectors perform On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) tests. For added convenience, a 24-hour self-service kiosk is available for eligible vehicles (generally model year 2005 and newer) to complete testing outside of regular business hours. The kiosk is credit-card only and offers a quick, user-friendly alternative to the full-service lanes.
- Kiosk: Open 24/7 (Credit Card Only)
- Process: OBD Test, Gas Cap Check
- Holidays: Closed on State Holidays
Visit Information
Wait times at the full-service lanes can vary, with the busiest times typically being the beginning and end of the month. To expedite your visit, ensure you have your vehicle registration card and the VEIP testing notice sent by mail. The station accepts cash, checks, and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover) in the full-service lanes. The self-service kiosk offers a discounted testing fee compared to the full-service lanes.
