Mission and Regulatory Role

- Education Oversight: The Board approves and monitors nursing education programs within the state to ensure they meet educational standards.
- Online Services: Most licensing tasks, including renewals and address changes, must be completed through the Board's online regulatory portal. Paper applications are largely phased out for routine processes.
Discipline and Complaints
A critical function of the Board is to investigate complaints against nurses. If a nurse is found to have violated the Nurse Practice Act—through incompetence, unprofessional conduct, or substance misuse—the Board has the authority to take disciplinary action, which may include probation, suspension, or revocation of a license.Location and Contact
