Role and Responsibilities

The Bureau of the Budget is a vital component of the Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS). The Bureau serves as the financial architect for the State of Maine, working directly with the Governor to prepare and submit the biennial state budget document. The Bureau performs several critical functions that maintain the state’s financial health:
