Overview
Commonwealth Media Services Overview
Commonwealth Media Services (CMS) is the internal multimedia and marketing agency for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Located in the 333 Market Street Tower in downtown Harrisburg, this bureau operates under the Department of General Services. It provides a full spectrum of creative and technical services exclusively to state agencies, boards, and commissions, ensuring that government communications are professional, accessible, and cost-effective.
Creative and Technical Services
CMS acts as a ‘one-stop shop’ for state government media needs, replacing the need for expensive external advertising agencies.
- Video Production: Produces public service announcements, training videos, and event coverage. The facility includes a fully equipped broadcast studio.
- Photography: Professional headshots for officials, documentation of state events, and location photography for publications.
- Graphic Design: Creates logos, brochures, reports, and digital assets for agency websites and social media campaigns.
- Media Strategy: Assists agencies with media planning and buying to effectively reach Pennsylvanians with important public information.
Facility and Access
The CMS offices and studios are located on the 2nd floor of 333 Market Street. As a government facility, access is restricted to state employees and authorized visitors. It is not a retail location for the general public. The studios are often used by the Governor and other high-ranking officials for press briefings and satellite interviews.
