Capital Complex Maintenance
The Capital Complex Maintenance division operates under the Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services (BGS). Based at 120 State Street, this team is responsible for the physical upkeep, repair, and facilities management of the Vermont State House, the Pavilion Building, and other key government structures within the Montpelier Capital Complex. Their work ensures that the seat of Vermont’s state government functions safely and efficiently for legislators, state employees, and the public.
Services and Operations
- Facilities Management: Overseeing daily operations including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical repairs for state office buildings.
- Groundskeeping: Maintaining the State House lawn and surrounding gardens, including landscaping and seasonal cleanup.
- Snow Removal: Ensuring safe access to government buildings during Vermont’s winter months by clearing parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances.
- Event Support: Assisting with the logistical setup for official state functions and public events held at the State House or on the lawn.
