Overview
USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) – Manhattan
Important Service Limitations
The USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) located at 201 Varick Street is a specialized facility dedicated exclusively to the collection of biometrics. This includes digital fingerprints, photographs, and electronic signatures required for background checks related to immigration applications.
Please Note: This office DOES NOT provide information services, does not conduct immigration interviews, and cannot answer questions about the status of your case. Staff members here are contractors specifically tasked with biometric collection and do not have access to your full immigration file.
Appointment Policy
Services at this ASC are by appointment only. Walk-ins are generally not accepted. You must have a specialized ASC Appointment Notice (Form I-797C) sent to you by USCIS. This notice will include your specific date and time slot. If you cannot make your appointment, you must follow the rescheduling instructions on your notice or through your online myUSCIS account. Do not visit the office if you do not have this notice in hand.
Preparing for Your Visit
When arriving for your appointment, you must bring:
- Your ASC Appointment Notice (Form I-797C).
- Valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification (such as a passport, Green Card, or driver’s license).
The entrance to the facility is typically on West Houston Street. Visitors should arrive no more than 15 minutes before their scheduled time to prevent overcrowding. Due to federal security regulations at 201 Varick Street, cell phones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the facility. You may be asked to leave these items outside or in a locker if available, but it is best to leave them at home.
