Appointment Policy

Service is by appointment only. Walk-ins are generally not accepted. To schedule a visit, taxpayers must call the appointment line at 844-545-5640. This system ensures that clients are seen promptly and that the specific service they need is available at this location.

Available Services

The Burlington TAC offers limited but critical services:

• Payments: Acceptance of check or money order payments for federal taxes. Cash is typically not accepted.
• ITIN Authentication: Review and verification of original documents for Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (W-7) applications.
• Identity Protection: Identity verification services for those who have received letters (such as 5071C) requiring in-person proof of identity.
• Tax Law Assistance: During the tax filing season (Jan 1 – April 18), basic inquiries about individual Federal Tax Returns may be answered.

Security and Access

Visitors should arrive 15 minutes early and must bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Security screening is mandatory upon entry. Prohibited items include weapons of any kind.
