Overview
About Maine State Park Reservations
The Maine State Park Reservations service is managed by the Bureau of Parks and Lands, a division of the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. While the majority of campers utilize the online Camp With Me system, the bureau maintains its central administrative operations in Augusta, Maine at the Harlow Building (18 Elkins Lane) on the state’s East Campus (AMHI Complex). This office is responsible for managing the reservation database, processing payments, and overseeing the call center.
Reservation Services
The reservations office connects campers with Maine’s 12 state park campgrounds, facilitating stays at iconic locations like Sebago Lake, Camden Hills, and Cobscook Bay. Key functions include:
- Call Center Operations: The ”Camp With Me” call center operates seasonally, typically from February through September, assisting those who prefer to book by phone.
- Group Camping: Handling special requests and bookings for group campsites (7 or more people), which often require direct coordination.
- Mail and Drop-off: processing paper reservation forms mailed in or dropped off at the Augusta office.
Operating Season
It is important to note that the physical office and call center have specific seasonal hours. The reservation season generally kicks off in early February. During the off-season, support may be limited to the main Bureau of Parks and Lands contacts. Visitors wishing to drop off forms in person should head to the Harlow Building and be prepared for standard state office security protocols.
